The Perfect Balance: Where Fitness, Love, and Food Converge


In my last blog post, I shared the challenges and triumphs of balancing medical school and fitness on the vibrant island of Dominica. But as life would have it, a new chapter unfolded when I crossed paths with someone unexpected – a potential love interest.

Now, this isn't a tale of romance, but rather a twist in my fitness journey that I hadn't foreseen. Amidst long class hours, intense study sessions, and lunchtime workouts, finding time for socializing seemed like a luxury. Yet, as our connection grew stronger, so did the desire to spend more time together.

Sundays, once reserved for beach sprints and solitary reflection, soon became our day. Initially, we'd meet in the late afternoon after my beach workouts, but as our bond deepened, so did our desire for more quality time. Thus, Sundays transformed into full-day rendezvous filled with laughter, good food, and relaxation.

However, this newfound bliss came with its own set of challenges. Her love for cooking paired with my passion for savoring delicious meals led to indulgent Sunday feasts and lazy afternoons in front of the TV. While enjoyable, this shift marked a departure from my disciplined fitness routine and posed a new test of commitment.
